Best Desserts in Belgrade: My Top 9 Dessert Shops

If you’re looking for some post-meal desserts or yummy beverages, you won’t have to look hard or long to find some in Belgrade. With ice cream and gelato shops and bakeries on what seems like every block, there are loads of options. But after spending nearly 2 months in the city, I’ve gathered my favorite dessert shops in Belgrade to save you some time. Let me know in the comments where your favorite dessert spot in Belgrade is!

1. Crna ovca

There are countless places to get ice cream in Belgrade, but trust me when I say this: this is the best ice cream ever. Period.

The texture is unlike any I’ve ever had. It’s so thick that it doesn’t melt as fast and it’s insanely creamy. They have a lot of delicious and interesting flavors that change daily so you’ll most definitely find something new and/or something you love.

I came here several times; I just couldn’t get enough. Luckily they have a few different locations, including one in Novi Sad! You can thank me later šŸ˜‰

2. Wagokoro

Passionfruit daifuku

I was shocked to find delicious, high quality, artisanal daifuku (mochi-like desserts) in Belgrade. The owner moved to Belgrade from Japan and eventually opened up this beautiful shop, and Belgrade is so lucky to have her. I am obsessed with these and think about them often. You.must.try.them.ASAP!

3. Ćao Šećeru

Bluberry pistachio cake

This gluten free, refined-sugar free, and vegan dessert shop is one of my favorite places in Belgrade. Trust me, you don’t miss any of the gluten, sugar, or dairy. The products I tried here were fantastic and I love how healthy they are for a “dessert.”

4. WOOOW Matcha

I’m not a matcha fanatic like many seem to be these days — I actually don’t care for it much. But when it’s done right, I do really appreciate it. This was one of three times in my life that I really enjoyed matcha. I got a yummy coconut flavor and I loved it. Plus, the shop is adorable if you’re looking for an IG-worthy #foodgram.

5. Ferdinand Knedle

If you want to try a Serbian dessert, I highly recommend checking out Ferdinand Knedle. A knedle is a dumpling made of potato dough, originating form the Austro-Hungarian empire.

Here you’ll find all sorts of flavors and fillings, both sweet and savory! My absolute favorite flavor was the raspberry cream cheese, so do not sleep on these!! They have a few locations so you’ll surely be near one of them.

6. Bubble Tea Boom

If youā€™ve craving bubble tea, why not come to the first bubble tea shop in Belgrade? I can’t say it’s the best boba I’ve ever had, but it’s definitely the best boba I’ve had in this general region of the world, and definitely the best in Belgrade. Make sure to bring as they don’t accept card here!

7. Slatkoteka

If you’re craving donuts, especially sweet ones, you gotta check out Slatkoteka. I was immediately drawn in when I passed the window with a case full of beautifully decorated donuts.

I mean, a fortune cookie donut? C’mon, how cute is that?! And a cruffin, in Serbia?

My friends and I shared a box of 4, which was plenty for us (as they’re very rich), and I think our favorite was the fortune cookie one.

Now these last two were on my list but I unfortunately didn’t get the chance to check out šŸ™ They have fantastic reviews and the shops are beautiful. Definitely worth checking out, and let me know how you like’em!

8. Pasteli Cake Shop

9. Valentina i Karanfil

Recommended to me by a local Serbian foodie as having the best chocolates!
