1. Znak Pitanja (Question Mark)
Since this is a list of my favorite foods in a Serbian city, I figured I should start with my favorite Serbian restaurant. The owner of this restaurant didn’t know what to name his restaurant, so he opened it as “Question Mark” and the name hasn’t changed since.
I loved the ćevapčići here and they were hands down my favorite of all the Serbian restaurants I tried.

2. Picerija Skver
I’m so happy I stumbled upon this super cute pizzeria with really good wood-fired pizza. It’s probably my favorite pizza joint in the city.

3. Smokvica – Kralja Petra
With 6 different locations, this location allegedly has the best staff, according to a local food blogger. Per her recommendations, I tried the vegan curry and spring rolls and they were both fantastic! The menu is extensive so you’ll have plenty to choose from.

4. Submariner Casual Dining Center
I really loved this spot for their organic, natural, local, homemade, farm to table burgers and burger flights. I couldn’t choose from their yummy flavors so I got the flight, which was a good choice.

6. Skroz Dobra Pekara
This was my favorite and most-frequented bakery in Serbia. and this is a Serbian chain and you can find many other bakeries, but I loved all the options especially in the larger locations with deli’s and hot foods. From juices to pastries, sandwiches to pizza, you can find something for any part of the day and for a really great price.

7. Bloom

8. Kafić VeZa
If you’re looking for something lighter for your tummy and for the environment, you’ll love this vegan low waste café. I really loved the nutty flavor and texture of the sunflower butter on the tofu sandwich. Sounds odd, but trust me it’s delicious. Oh, and their homemade passionfruit iced tea was so refreshing on a hot summer day.

9. Jungle Box
Founded by a Brazilian woman, this is the spot if you want yummy Brazilian eats in Belgrade. Here you can find housemade pão de queijo, salgadinhos, acai bowls (with acai imported from Brazil), housemade granola, coffee, caipirinha’s, smoothies, pastries, and they’re all fantastic.

This was one of the best meals I’ve had in Belgrade. They’ve got an extensive menu, which made it hard to choose, and everything was amazing.

11. Bageterija Vracar
Beautiful restaurant with beautiful food. The eggs were so fluffy, chive cream cheese was great, salad was perfectly dressed, and the croissant was so flaky. This was one of the best meals I had in Belgrade!!

13. Burrito Madre
Unfortunately I skipped this spot because I misjudged it; I didn’t think there could be decent Mexican food in Serbia. That was a mistake because a few (Latino) people told me the food was actually good. Damn it!
